Carter Springs FireThe Sierra Front exhibits complex and challenging fire conditions that give rise to a variety of issues; including interfused land ownership, concentrated populations in a wildland urban interface environment, vegetation that generates high intensity wildland fires with severe weather conditions and competing resource values. The historical fire load along the Sierra Front averages 400 wildfires each season on federal, state and private lands.
